First 100 years of the Danish Association of Chartered Estate Agents!

This year, DE, the Danish Association of Chartered Estate Agents is celebrating its first 100 years of existence. The Danish trade association for real estate agents was indeed established in 1912, to gather all reputable real estate agents who run real estate by commission, therefore being able to safeguard all members’ business interests and ensure that seller and buyer experience good and effective treatment.

Some of DE’s strengths and characteristics are the sense of quality and commitment in regard to its members. By the end of the nineteen eighties DE merged three associations in the wish to create one powerful association where everyone were chartered and up until today The Danish Association of Chartered Estate Agents is considered the most influential trade association for real estate agents. Approximately 94% of all practicing Danish real estate agents, either owner of an estate agency or employed in such a business, are DE members (3.070 estate agents in December 2011).

Through political influence DE wishes to promote good working conditions for this industry. The association also works towards a high technical quality, credibility and respect of the industry’s work.

The 100 anniversary celebrations on the 12th of May include an official reception at The Tivoli Congress Centre, during which guests will be welcomed by a speech from DE’s chairman Steen Winther-Petersen, and other invited speakers, including Claudine Speltz, CEPI President. During the reception the yearly realtor award will be presented, followed by a formal dinner and a dancing party.
