CEPI Calls for Continuation of the European Parliament Urban Intergroup
At the beginning of the new term of the European Parliament the existing intergroups are required to resubmit their applications for establishment. Intergroups can be formed of MEPs from any political group and any committee, with a view to holding informal exchanges of views on particular subjects and promoting contact between MEPs and civil society. CEPI calls for the continuation of the URBAN Intergroup which existed in the last parliament and the enlargement of its scope to include real estate issues at large.
The impact of the EU on the real estate sector is ever increasing. It is important to recognize that impact and also to have an understanding of the role of the real estate sector in the economy of the EU of which it is a vital part. Therefore CEPI would like to see the URBAN Intergroup covering housing as a priority but also the full spectrum of real estate including construction, development and management etc.
CEPI has already confirmed its strong interest in working with the URBAN Intergroup as an official partner and looks forward to its continuation in the next session of the European Parliament.
