CEPI makes a request to the European Commissioners

The EU and its rules and regulations are having more and more effect on the real estate sector. However it is not always so clear that the real estate sector is being given proper consideration at EU level. It is important to develop a coherent and strategic policy for the sector. For this reason CEPI has written together with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and First Vice-President Frans Timmermans to request a meeting at the highest possible level to discuss the concerns of the sector.

This initiative is supported by 41 associations active in the real estate sector in many different ways. Apart from CEPI and the RICS, the other associations include for example organisations from the construction sector as well as those representing owners, tenants and the less advantaged in the sector. It is the first time that such a joint approach has been made to the European Commission on behalf of the sector.

CEPI is grateful for the support of so many different associations for this initiative and looks forward to a positive response from the European Commission. A copy of the letter is available here
