CEPI Brussels Day & Energy Day 2019

On December 2-3 CEPI held in Brussels a conference for members, dedicated to the most crucial policy dossiers on the European agenda for the real estate sector.
The first day (Brussels Day) included interventions by Dr Kim Fyhr, Head of Relations with the European Parliament at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union, who gave members insights on changes in the European institutions after the 2019 elections, followed by an update on the work of the European Commission in the field of professional qualifications and skills by Ms Tinne Heremans from DG GROW. The programme for the rest of the day included meetings between our delegates and MEPs including a group session with MEP Mr Jan Olbrycht, Chair of the Urban Intergroup (of which CEPI is a long-term partner) in the last session of the European Parliament.

The second day (Energy Day) was fully dedicated to the topic of energy and included interventions by Mr Carlos Sanchez Riveiro (EC, DG ENERGY), Ms Jennifer Johnson, Sec-Gen of the European Mortgage Federation (on “green mortgages”), and Ms Emmanuelle Causse, Director of European Affairs of UIPI (the International Union of Property Owners), who all shared their views and experience on the topic of energy efficiency. The day concluded with exchanges between members about lessons learned and best case examples and practices to be shared as part of CEPI’s continued work on this important topic.
