EESC Renovation Wave Initiative: The role of key civil society groups in the renovation wave. Part of the European Economic and Social Committee Civil Society Days 2021 - online event


On 4 March 2021, the CEPI Secretariat joined the online event “Renovation Wave Initiative: the role of key civil society groups in the Renovation Wave”.

The event was jointly organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) with the Architects’ Council of Europe, and the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI).

The main topic discussed was energy efficiency of buildings, and a number of digital tools that can determine the energy efficiency of buildings before and after a renovation were presented, like for example the Digital Energy Advisory Platform, FAIRE, OSCAR and Cap renov+.

Among others, speakers of the event were: Ms Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy; Mr Pierre Jean Coulon, EESC’s rapporteur for the Renovation Wave; Ms Emmanuelle Causse, Secretary General of UIPI; Mr. Morten Andreas Meyer Secretary General of the Norwegian Homeowners’ Association, Huseierne; Ms Julie Fernandez, Council Member of the Conseil National de l’Ordre des Architectes ; Paula Rey García, Deputy Head of Unit B3 Energy Efficiency: Buildings and Products in the Directorate General of ENER in the European Commission and Mr Marcos Ros Sempre, Greek Member of the European Parliament from the Socialist and Democrats.
