On March 18, the Secretariat attended the online event “Launch of the InvestEU Programme: opportunities start here” organised by the European Commission.

The InvestEU Programme builds on the successful model of the Investment Plan for Europe, the Juncker Plan,  which mobilised more than €500 billion in the period 2015-20. With the aim of triggering a new wave - roughly €372 billion - in investments using an EU budget guarantee, the InvestEU Programme aims to give an additional boost to investment, innovation and job creation in Europe over the period 2021-27. The InvestEU Programme will cover four policy windows, namely sustainable infrastructure, small and medium enterprises, research, innovation and digitalisation, and social investment and skills.
 
Speakers of the event included: EC Commissioner Mr. Paolo Gentiloni, Ms. Elena Flores, Deputy Director General, Investment and International, from the Directorate General Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), Mr. Giorgio Chiarion Casoni, Acting Director - InvestEU and Financial institutions - from DG ECFIN, Ms. Alina Tanasa, Head of Unit – Investment Programme Management – from DG ECFIN, Ms. Kristine Kozlova, Deputy Head of Unit - InvestEU governance and advisory - from DG ECFIN, Jean Christophe Laloux, Director General and Head of Lending Operations (European Investment Bank - EIB), Charlotte Ruhe, Managing Director for Central and South Eastern Europe (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - EBRD) and Krzysztof Senger, Managing Director of the International Cooperation & Business Development of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) (European Long-Term Investors Association - ELTI).
