The online event focused on topics such as sustainable, inclusive, and carbon neutral housing as well as smart cities. The fruitful discussion brought together different examples on how the New Bauhaus can boost the holistic green transition of European cities.
More precisely, examples were drawn from urban projects, architectural designs, and innovative construction materials. A particular focus was given to suburban areas and how they can become more livable and greener. Moreover, the Commission presented a series of projects, in the HORIZON framework, whereby stakeholders can fund their ventures, to make cities more inclusive and carbon natural.
Speakers of the event included: Vera Winthagen and Laura Hetel from the Commission, Randi Augenstein, from the Norwegian-based architecture studio Helen & Hard, Timo Hintsanen from the City of Turku and Daniela Zupan, from the Weimar Bauhaus University.
