European Parliament – Gender Equality Week

The European Parliament (EP) is holding this week its second-ever Gender Equality week, after a first successful edition launched last year by the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee.

During the entire week, EP committees and delegations will hold a series of meetings and public hearings on many important issues linked to gender equality from the Turkish withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, passing by the impact of Covid-19 on gender equality related issues, to the so-called Women on Board Directive, still blocked in the Council.

Ms Carlien Scheele, Director of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) will present insights into the Gender Equality Index 2021, on Thursday, October 28, in front of the EP Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee.
