The Presidency of the Council rotates every six months among different Member States. The country that holds the Presidency is in charge of leading the Council’s work and to represent all Member States in negotiations with other EU institutions.
Support for Ukraine and the current energy crisis are among the priorities set in the current Presidency programme. Other matters such as security, competitiveness, innovation, and the green/digital transition are, among others, also on the programme for the Nordic country.
