| Ger Hukker | |
![]() |
GER HUKKER DID NOT DREAM OF BECOMING PRESIDENT OF NVM (NL) G. Hukker wished to become a full-service real estate broker, building up a network of real estate agencies throughout every country and being one of the most important players. Today, he runs several successful companies under the name "Drieman". He also has a minority participation in "Holding Keijser & Drieman" and manages the national franchise chain "Garantiemakelaars". If he has recently been elected NVM President, it is because he began to dream about certain projects "that I, as a broker, could not achieve alone" and that his colleagues within NVM also wished for. All these projects concern a changing professional environment and collegiality, facilitating members, quality care for the clients and the quality of the profession taking into account consumer wishes. "For instance, G. Hukker tells us, we are now busy putting the final touches to the quality rules which aim to strengthen the services for the clients. It’s a good thing that our members have been involved in this, preparing it with great care, for a long time. If we do not strengthen quality requirements, the depreciation of our profession will continue and we will not be recognisable anymore to the consumers". G. Hukker tells us furthermore that he and his team are thinking about a website where customers can voice their (dis)satisfaction. The comments could be used to make adjustments if necessary. This would demonstrate that NVM takes its customers’ opinions seriously and attaches thus high priority to its services. |

Marie-Louise Sigemalm is working as a lawyer at the Association of Real Estate Agents (Mäklarsamfundet) in Sweden. She has been working in the Association since 2001 and as a lawyer since 1995. She has been studying law at the University of Uppsala, just north of Stockholm. "I find it very interesting to work with real estate questions and specially the work in CEPI. It´s very important that the real estate agents learn to know how their collegues work in Europe. In Sweden we have noticed an increasing interest for cross border transactions and to work as real estate agent in other parts of Europe. I think it would be of great value for the real estate agents in Europe if they could learn from each other for example by sharing experiences." |
