On 15 April, 2021, the CEPI Secretariat attended the workshop “Minimum energy performance standards for existing buildings”, organised by Trinomics on behalf of the European Commission’s DG ENERGY.
The workshop was the second of a series of five workshops with the purpose of providing support to the impact assessment and the stakeholder consultation process concerning the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2010/31/EU (EPBD). This workshop specifically focused on the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for existing buildings.
Ms Paula Rey Garcia of the DG ENERGY opened the event by introducing the plans for the revision of the EPBD, with one of its key measures being MEPS. Subsequently, the floor was opened for participants to share their views on the Commission’s plans. The rest of the event was divided in three discussion sessions each of which was moderated by Mr Frank Gérard, Senior Expert in the Energy Transition and Low Carbon Economy at Trinomics and Mr. Peter Lemoine, Senior Expert at Trinomics.
