EU Roundtable on the QualDeEPC’s draft policy recommendations – online event

On February 3, the Secretariat of CEPI participated in the online event “EU Roundtable on the QualDeEPC’s draft policy recommendations”, organised by the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and the Environment (FEDARENE).

The Horizon2020 funded project QualDeEPC aims to enhance the quality and cross-EU convergence of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) schemes, and the link between EPCs and deep renovation. Since 2019, it has gathered experts and key stakeholders from ten institutions active in the field of energy efficiency and deep renovation. This roundtable aimed at presenting and discussing the consortium’s policy recommendations on the EPC schemes with experts from the EU institutions and key stakeholders. By focusing on the design, the use, the assessment methods and the quality of EPCs, the QualDeEPC project investigates the best ways to improve the EPC schemes and encourage deep renovation, by especially taking into consideration the Commission’s proposal on the recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

Speakers of the event included: Mr Pau Garcia Audi, Policy officer at the Buildings and Products Unit of the DG Energy of the European Commission; Mr Stefan Thomas, Director of the division for Energy, Transport and Climate Policy at the Wuppertal Institute; Ms Angelina Tomova, Project Coordinator at the Energy Agency of Plovdiv.
