Sustainable and healthy buildings. Reaching the goals of the EU Green Deal – online event


On May 17, the CEPI Secretariat attended the online event Sustainable and healthy buildings. Reaching the goals of the EU Green Deal.

The event, moderated by Ms Mariam Zaidi, Journalist at EURACTIV, was opened by CEO of Velux, Mr Biggs, who presented the new Velox report “Healthy homes Barometer 2022”, available here. Panellists debated on the recast of the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) as a key tool to achieving the ambitious goals set in the Fit For 55 Package and ensuring future-proof building stock.

The importance of a holistic and multi-benefit approach to such a legislative proposal, and the whole debate about energy and sustainability, was underlined. The main challenges and opportunities of this proposal were also mentioned. The importance of speeding up the pan-European process of improving the energy efficiency of bindings was welcomed by all as a key element of achieving the set energy targets.
